Oikos Kids

Birth to 5th Grade

Oikos Kids meets for Bible class on Sundays after our worship and intermission. The kids engage with the story of God and learn spiritual practices suited to their stage of life. We share big truths from Scripture, with lots of fun and a few snacks along the way.

At many churches, kids are rarely seen or heard in worship or small groups—they’re removed to specialized children’s church. We take a different approach. We believe the church is a multigenerational family of faith, and we want our Sunday Gathering and our Oikos Groups to reflect that. We believe life-long faith is best caught and taught.

That’s why kids are fully integrated into worship at Oikos. They’re seen and heard every week. They’re known, loved, and celebrated. Research shows that this intergenerational approach isn’t just who the church is—it’s also “the closest thing to a silver bullet” for forming life-long faith (Sticky Faith).

Oikos Youth

6th to 12th Grade

Oikos Youth gathers on Sundays for Bible class and every other week in a home for discipleship, community, fun, and worship. Our ministry is designed to complement, not compete with, Oikos Groups and the rhythms of our church. It’s a space where students can belong, believe, and be formed into disciples of Jesus for life.

Our goal is to help teens develop a lifelong, Christ-centered identity, learning to practice their faith, love one another deeply, and navigate today’s culture with wisdom and grace.

We take this seriously because today’s default doesn’t make disciples. Research shows that two-thirds of churchgoing kids and teens disengage from faith by age 25. That’s why we’re committed to building intentional pathways—equipping families for discipleship at home, integrating kids into the full life of the church, and reaching college students and young adults across Memphis.

The teenage years are a pivotal season for faith formation. In Oikos Youth, we give students a space of their own to grow in Christ, and we partner with parents and families to walk intentionally with their teens.
